Kramer Alberti Records Another PTAB Clean Sweep, Securing Four IPR Victories for Client Keyless Licensing LLC Against Samsung Electronics

July 30, 2025

In its latest victory at the PTAB, Kramer Alberti ran the table for the third time in as many months, this time on behalf of client Keyless Licensing LLC, winning denial of institution of four inter partes review petitions filed by Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.

Benjamin Ghassabian, a life-long inventor and the founder of Keyless Licensing, invented and patented novel systems for the design of mobile devices. His inventions recognize and improve upon the capture and processing of data inputs allowing for flexible, efficient, and highly user-friendly interfaces in mobile phones and products. His inventions were a significant advance in the field.

“This latest PTAB victory is extra special for my team and me, and we’re happy that Benjamin and his team at Keyless are able to enjoy this strategic win. With this IPR phase now behind us, we look forward to heading to trial against Samsung in Marhsall, Texas, next spring,” stated Kramer Alberti partner and lead counsel for Keyless, Rob Kramer.

Samsung challenged the validity of Keyless’ three foundational patents, but the Patent Office rejected Samsung’s petitions denying institution. The IPRs are captioned in the Patent Office PTAB as Samsung v. Keyless Licensing, IPR 2025-00526, IPR2025-00527, IPR2025-00528, and IPR2025-00529.

To secure the IPR victories for Keyless, Kramer Alberti co-counseled in the PTAB with attorneys from Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox, PLLC, with whom they have a strong relationship.  Opposing counsel representing Samsung in the district court case and related IPRs is Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner LLP.
