Greg is a technologist with more than 15 years experience in patent litigation working as a consulting expert, software engineer, and source code reviewer.  He works closely with Kramer Alberti’s litigation teams on complex patent cases.

Greg’s case history includes a wide variety of technological fields, including information retrieval, short-range wireless communication, digital rights management (DRM), distributive computing, mobile advertising, consumer electronics, computer vision, and 3D modeling, among others. Greg has experience in all phases of patent litigation, including asset investment, validity and infringement investigation, discovery, claim construction, report writing, deposition preparation, and expert testimony.  He is an experienced code reviewer, having conducted thousands of hours of source code review, and has joined litigation teams at trial on multiple occasions.

Prior to joining Kramer Alberti, he consulted with several IP litigation firms, and taught graduate and undergraduate courses in computer science at Sacred Heart University.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. and Samsung Electronics America, Inc.  Consulted on infringement investigation, infringement contentions, source code review, expert report drafting, and trial team support in a case related to high data rate, device-independent data transfer technologies (USB Mass Storage, Picture Transfer Protocol and Media Transfer Protocol) against multiple cell phone manufacturers.

KlausTech, LLC v. Google LLC.  Consulted on infringement investigation, infringement contentions and conducted source code review in case related to Internet advertising on websites and mobile applications.

Preservation Technologies Patent Infringement Litigation.  Consulted on infringement investigation, infringement contentions and conducted source code review in case involving a portfolio of patents developed by the University of Southern California relating to indexing, accessing, distributing, and surveying multimedia data.

Personal Audio, Inc. v. Google LLC.  Consulted on infringement investigation, conducted source code review, expert report drafting, and trial team support in case related to personal digital audio players capable of downloading and playing audio files in a curated playlist.

Bandspeed, Inc. Patent Infringement Litigation.  Consulted on infringement investigation, source code review and expert report drafting in case related to adaptive frequency hopping communication technologies.  Developed data mining algorithms to identify potentially infringing consumer electronic products based on required feature set and past licensing history.  Presented technology tutorial to District Court in Bandspeed, Inc. v. Realtek Semiconductor Corporation (W.D. Texas).

Appliance Computing III, Inc. d/b/a Surefield v. Redfin Corp. Consulted on infringement investigation, infringement contentions, conducted source code review, infringement and validity expert report drafting, and trial team support in case related to 3D virtual home tour technology.
